Ogera Ventures Private Limited (referred to as "Ogera", "Company", "we", "us" or "our") values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Ogera mobile application and our related websites and services (together, the "Platform"), how we use and protect that information, and the choices you have.
This Policy is published in accordance with applicable Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. By using the Platform, you confirm that you have read and understood this Policy. Where the law requires your consent, we will obtain it before processing your personal information. If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use the Platform.
We collect only the information reasonably needed to provide our services to you. Depending on how you use the Platform, this may include:
The Platform is intended only for users who are 18 years of age or older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18.
The Platform asks for certain device permissions only to provide specific features. You can grant or withdraw these permissions at any time in your device settings, though some features may not work without them.
We use your information to create and manage your account, verify your identity through KYC, provide and improve our services, match loads and manage trips, record load pricing and payment terms agreed between the parties, send you trip and service notifications, understand and improve app performance through analytics, keep the Platform safe and prevent fraud, and comply with applicable law. If you have agreed to receive them, we may also send you promotional offers and updates, and you can choose to stop receiving these at any time.
Because Ogera is a logistics platform, location is important to how the app works. With your permission, we access your device's location only while the app is open and in use, to show live loads and trucks near you and to match you with the most relevant trips and routes. We do not track your location in the background or when the app is closed, and we do not collect continuous or real-time location trails.
We recommend keeping location access turned on for the best experience. If you turn location off, the app will not be able to show live loads near you or match you accurately, and these features may not work as intended. You can manage location access at any time in your device settings.
To run the Platform reliably, we use a small number of trusted third-party services that may process limited information on our behalf:
These providers process information only as needed to perform their service and are governed by their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only where necessary: with the trusted service providers described above and other partners (such as cloud hosting, verification, and payment partners) who work on our behalf under confidentiality obligations; with other users to the limited extent needed to complete a transaction (for example, sharing a driver's contact and vehicle details with a goods owner for a confirmed trip); with authorities where required by law; and in connection with any business transfer, subject to this Policy continuing to apply.
We keep your personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this Policy. Certain records — such as KYC records and trip and transaction records — may be retained for longer where this is required by law (for example, for tax, accounting, or anti-fraud purposes). When information is no longer required, it is deleted or anonymised.
Some of our service providers (such as Google/Firebase and OneSignal) may store or process information on servers located outside India. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information continues to be protected and handled in accordance with this Policy and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. We do not transfer personal information to any country or territory restricted for such transfers by the Government of India.
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and hosting with reputable service providers.
We give special protection to the identity documents you upload for KYC. Every KYC document is encrypted on your own device before it is uploaded, using strong, industry-standard encryption. Each document is locked with a unique key, and that key is then secured using our server's RSA-2048 public key, so that only our server — which alone holds the matching private key — can open and read your document. Documents are sent to us over secure (HTTPS) connections, and the app will not upload a KYC document unless this encryption has been applied.
Your information is safe with us. We continually review and strengthen our safeguards to keep it protected, and we handle your data with care at every step. To help us keep your account secure, please keep your login credentials confidential.
You may access and review the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or update it, and, where applicable, request that it be deleted. You may withdraw any consent you have given, for future processing, and you may opt out of promotional messages and push notifications at any time. You may also nominate another person to exercise your rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact our Grievance Officer using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request.
You can request deletion of your account and the personal information associated with it at any time:
Once we verify your request, we will delete or anonymise your personal information within 30 days. Where we are required by law to retain certain records — such as KYC, transaction, or tax records — we will keep them only for the period required under the applicable law and securely delete them once that period ends. Similarly, any information we need to resolve disputes or prevent fraud is retained only for as long as it is necessary and is deleted once it is no longer required.
We may update this Policy from time to time, and may do so frequently, to reflect changes in our practices, our features, or the law. The latest version will always be available on the Platform, with a revised "Last updated" date at the top. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically so that you are aware of the most current version. Your continued use of the Platform after any update means you accept the revised Policy.
This Policy is governed by the laws of India, and any disputes relating to it are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Kerala, India.
